1. CHAIN MAINTENANCE
- Clean and lubricate the chain externally after every 500 km (300 miles) of driving.
- Avoid using steam, thinner, gasoline, or similar solvents for cleaning.
- Replace the chain and sprockets together if excessive stretching, stiffness, rust, or abnormal noise occurs.
- If battery acid comes into contact with the chain, clean it thoroughly to prevent corrosion.
2. IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS FOR CHAIN REPLACEMENT
- Use a similar model when connecting the chain links.
- Follow the correct instructions when fitting the spring clip.
- Maintain the recommended chain slack of 25–35 mm.
- Keep the sprocket axes parallel and in the same plane.
3. PRECAUTIONS
- Chain quality affects sprocket performance and durability.
- Low-quality chains may reduce sprocket life.
- Servis motorcycle chains are manufactured according to Japanese standards.
- Replace the chain and sprockets at the same time.
4. SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR CHAIN ADJUSTMENT
- Adjust the chain after the initial riding period.
- Check and adjust the chain after every 200–300 km initially.
- Subsequently, adjust the chain after every 500 km of driving.
